Ojistoh Kahnawahere Horn

The 2026 Dr. Marguerite (Peggy) Hill Memorial Lecture on Indigenous Health will explore the vital theme of environmental health justice. We’re honoured to welcome Ojistoh Kahnawahere Horn MSc, MD, CCFP (Medical Director of Health for the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne and President of the Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada) as our keynote speaker.

Dr. Horn brings a deeply grounded perspective shaped by her family’s roots in Kahnawake and Akwesasne, and by her work providing comprehensive primary care across the lifespan. Her practice draws upon Western and traditional paradigms, with a particular focus on the effects of the environment on health. Through her leadership and teaching, Dr. Horn illuminates the complexities, strengths, and community‑based approaches that shape primary care for Indigenous peoples and their communities.
